This page explains which cookies and similar technologies we use on gettrustedastrology.com, why, and how you can control them. For our broader handling of personal data, see the Privacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website saves on your device. They let the site remember things like what’s in your cart, whether you’re logged in, or which language you prefer. We also use browser local storage, which is similar to a cookie but stays in your browser rather than being sent back to us.
What we use
Strictly necessary (no consent required)
These cookies are essential for the site to function. You can’t opt out without breaking the site.
- WooCommerce session cookies (
wp_woocommerce_session_*,woocommerce_cart_hash,woocommerce_items_in_cart) — keep your shopping cart working as you navigate. - Authentication cookies (
wordpress_logged_in_*) — if you log into an account, these keep you logged in. - Browser local storage — when you use one of our free preview calculators (birth chart, Vedic, compatibility), the values you typed and the preview you saw are stored locally in your browser. This lets us pre-fill the checkout form so you don’t retype your birth data. The data stays on your device and is only sent to our servers if you actually complete an order.
- Cookie-consent record — when you respond to our cookie banner, your choice (“accept” or “reject non-essential”) is stored in a cookie called
ta_ccand a localStorage entry calledta_cc_consent_v1for one year, so we don’t ask again on every page. No personal data — only the choice itself and a timestamp.
Functional
- Place-of-birth autocomplete queries the OpenStreetMap Nominatim API when you type. No tracking cookie is involved; the request is for the city name only.
Analytics
- We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics service. If we add one in the future, this page will be updated and a consent banner will ask first.
Third-party payment cookies
- When you visit our checkout, Stripe, PayPal, and WooPayments may set their own cookies on their part of the page. These are governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
How to control cookies
- Change your consent choice — use the Manage cookie preferences link below to re-open the consent banner at any time.
- In your browser: every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. Look in Settings → Privacy. Note that blocking essential cookies will stop the cart from working.
- Clear local storage: in your browser’s developer tools (Application tab in Chrome/Edge, Storage in Firefox), under Local Storage you can delete the entries beginning with
ta_intake.to clear any captured preview data, orta_cc_consent_v1to forget your consent choice.
